CIAP education sessions for all NSW Area Health Services are funded by NSW Health. These sessions provide
an overview of the CIAP website and techniques for searching journals and databases.
Book the appropriate venue, including catering if included.
Advertise and promote the sessions via any available means such
as posters, emails, or memos.
Ensure that potential participants are aware that the sessions
are at a basic, introductory level only, unless otherwise specified.
If numbers are limited, instigate a booking/reservation/waiting
list system with a RSVP date (there will always be drop-outs).
Liaise with the facilitator of the session on details such as
parking options and other needs for presenting the session,
including availability of network connection, contact with the
local IT Departmen and/or Librarian
Inform facilitator of any relevant local issues or problems
re the CIAP, eg. firewalls, preferred printout formats,
email and/or Internet restrictions and Area rules and procedures.
Liaise with appropriate individuals in the organisation (eg
IT or Education Departments) re supplying equipment, connections
etc if applicable.
Prepare copies of handouts (including library services available)
and/or business cards for distribution to participants.
During the session
Check comfort of facilitator and participants (eg heating, seating
arrangements) where possible.
If attending the session in person, please save your questions
or inquiries requiring clarification until after the presentation.
Check on catering if provided.
After the session

Thank the facilitator for conducting the session and
provide constructive feedback as required.
Liaise with facilitator re collection, delivery and reporting
of evaluations.
Distribute handouts and/or business cards including evaluations.
Discuss any issues of concern with the facilitator.
Ensure security/return of any equipment used during the session.
