CAPTION is continuing in 2006
There are nine NSW/ACT hospitals that are continuing with CAPTION activity in 2006. To coincide with the release of the updated Therapeutic Guidelines: Antibiotic, all CAPTION intervention materials have been updated to incorporate the latest recommendations and will be circulated to all CAPTION hospitals in early July 2006. An audit of CAP management will be conducted across the nine NSW/ACT hospitals to compare current management of CAP compared to the Therapeutic Guidelines. The sustainability of change in practice will also be investigated.
CAPTION 2003 - 05
The NSW arm of the 2003 - 2005 CAPTION Project -'Community acquired pneumonia: Towards improving outcomes nationally'- was completed in September 2005.
